6AM-12PM Randy “Bubba” Black was born in Central California and grew up with record players all around him. and around town. It was no surprise that at an early age he knew he was going to be a DJ.
Stockton CA. is where Bubba started his broadcasting career at college radio station KSJC- Delta Community College.
That is where he transitioned from being one of the early club mixers locally to his Rap and Mix show on commercial radio KWIN. He continued his craft in the Rhythm CHR radio format for 8 more hard years as a weekend announcer. One day he was contacted by the new country station in town, landing at one of America’s biggest radio stations. Bubba went from Rappin’ to Ropin’, It was the country format and Bubba spent over 20+ years at KATM-KAT Country 103 his work garnered the station the ACM Station of The Year Award. Black retired after his time at KATM, with some short stops along the way in Reno Nevada, and Denver Colorado.
He is an avid Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan, owns a large ranch, and has been married for 30+ years with two kids, six grandchildren, and five dogs. Bubba says, “There’s nothing like a beautiful day in Salt Lake City, and the people here are so kind. I appreciate every listener, and I know they are hard to come by. There is no country like 90’s Country and I have spent the majority of my life working in this business, thanks to all of the Wasatch Front for the open ears, and hearts. 12PM-6PM While taking a communication class his freshman year in a Las Vegas High School PAT GARRETT realized this is what he was going to do the rest of his life. By the end of his freshman year, he landed his first radio job playing the hits at Disco 123 KLAV. 20+ years later he’s still spinning the hits! Pat “The Outlaw” believes There’s nothing like being on the air, saying something that makes people laugh, requesting a donation from our listeners for someone in need, or giving away a fancy prize, it truly is the greatest feeling in the world. He even says I am so lucky that I get to do this for a living!
Pat has worked radio in Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, Sacramento, Stockton, Modesto, Utah, and
Seattle. Pat has worked in several formats from Disco to Big Band, Urban, Top 40 Elevator music, and Country. Safe to say, he loves them all!
