Director Danny Boyle has confirmed that a third “28 Days Later” movie is in the works and original screenwriter Alex Garland is also on board.

The first film, which was done in 2002, received rave reviews and was said to have been the spark for the zombie genre resurgence.

The 2007 follow-up “28 Weeks Later” was also well-received by critics. Talks of a third movie started to surface in 2015, and details of the project are unknown, but Garland did say it will probably be set 28 “months” after the first outbreak.
