The Grand Ole Opry turns 5,000, sorta. The Saturday night broadcast will air its 5,000th show and Garth Brooks, Dustin Lynch, Darius Rucker, and Trisha Yearwood will be there to celebrate. They will join Bill Anderson, Terri Clark, Vince Gill, Chris Janson, Jeannie Seely, Connie Smith, the Gatlin Brothers, and Chris Young to celebrate the longest-running broadcast in the world. The celebration will air on flagship station, 650 AM-WSM, which started in 1925, it can also be heard on opry.com, wsmonline.com, Opry and WSM mobile apps, and SiriusXM. The Grand Ole Opry broadcast shows during the Great Depression, World War II, two Nashville floods, and the global pandemic. “In the midst of turmoil and the best of times, that circle has seen it all…the Opry has proven itself to be this indelible kind of thing that not only America, but the globe can count on…,” said Opry member Marty Stuart.
