NJ.com claims a drunk man recently passed out in an Uber car before waking up to a $1,635 bill. Kenny Bachman and his friends were partying in Morgantown, West Virginia when he called an Uber car to take him home.Kenny passed out in the passenger seat before waking up 300 miles away near his permanent residence in Gloucester County, New Jersey.
He tells Advanced Media; “I just woke up. And I’m thinking, ‘Why am I in the car next to some random dude I don’t even know? Afterwards I had it fully sink in. Once the ride ended and I saw how much it was when I was like ‘Alright, this is insane, that’s just crazy.'”
The Uber driver was fined at every toll booth because he did not have exact change. Kenny is planning to challenge the charge because he claims he never gave his New Jersey home address to Uber.
Uber did confirmed that the ride did happen and that the driver took the passenger to the correct destination. Uber also connected with Bachman and resolved the matter, which ended with him agreeing to pay the fare.
So as of now he is short on funds and needs help paying the charge. Bachman launched a GoFundMe page to help paying his bill. The page features a picture of SpongeBob SquarePants along with the caption: ”Blacked out in an Uber and woke up to a $1,600 dent in my pocket”. As of the time we wrote the story he has made $275.
